Captains to pick teams for 2018 NBA All-Star Weekend after format tweak

The NBA All-Star Game is switching formats this season, as two captains will select the teams without regard to which conferences the players play in, the league announced Tuesday.

The players who win the fan vote from each conference will be the captains.

The move that shocked the summer, aside from Kyrie to Boston, was Carmelo Anthony opting out of his no-trade clause in NYC to go play with Billy Donovan, Paul George, Russell Westbrook in Oklahoma City. What did OKC do to deserve such a great deal? Well the trio obviously is going to be great, and you gotta love Billy Donovan. My thinking is Carmelo is looking at it from investment standpoint. Oklahoma has a very low tax rate and Carmelo is estimated to be worth 200 million. Not only that, but he doesn't have the burden of having everything on his shoulders like in NYC.

NBA Teams Showcase Alternate 'Statement' Jerseys for the 2017-18 Season

As the NBA preseason approaches, clubs officially showcased their alternate Statement Edition jerseys for the 2017-18 season on Friday. The league will move away from home and road uniforms for variety and style.

The Golden State Warriors decided to pay homage to Oakland by adding "The Town" on the front.

James Harden Donates 1 Million Dollars to Harvey Relief - Is It Enough?

James Harden of the Houston Rockets has pledged to give one million dollars of his personal fortune to the victims of Hurricane Harvey. Anyone who gives a penny should be applauded and not questioned when it comes to giving. James Harden is a little bit of a different story though. Harden plays in Houston for the fans of Houston. They basically pay his paycheck, and Harden just became the highest paid player in the league with a 4 Year - 223 Million extension.
